Plasma Facial

What is the Plasma Facial®?

The Plasma Facial® is a procedure that uses healing potential of microtrauma combined with growth factors from platelet-rich plasma that turns on the skin’s healing mechanisms. The procedure stimulates collagen and elastin production while breaking up any existing scar tissue. This procedure is levaraged by many celebrities all over the world to maintain their ageless look.

Who benefits from Plasma Facial®?

  • Skin color that has become grayer because of less blood flow
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Scars from Trauma, acne, or chicken pox
  • Rough skin texture
  • Overall tired, worn, gray or drooping skin appearance
  • It is safe for all skin types

What steps are involved with the Plasma facial®?

This procedure involves drawing blood from patient’s vein and then separating plasma out of it.

A device is then used to create multiple micro- channels driving the growth factors into the skin, and this micro trauma tighten the skin by increasing collagen.

Downtime is only 12-24 hours on average- at which time you may experience minimal soreness or bruising following the procedure. The platelet-rich plasma that is used causes a faster healing process, therefore, downtime is much less with this procedure.

Scar Management (ScarLab)

Smooth and seamless skin is an asset. Many times skin gets disrupted and leads to scarring. This scarring is usually not a problem if it can be concealed easily. Scarring can be result injury, burns, acne, previous surgery, pregnancy(stretch marks), sudden growth(stretch marks) and can be on face, breast, buttocks, stomach or any other areas of cosmetic importance to an individual. Scarring of skin is very difficult to treat and it may not be possible to completely remove the scars.

Scar Treatments

Dr Garg’s sound background in plastic surgery and his immense surgical experience has made it possible for him to understand scarring process deeply. He has designed many original scar therapies which target scarring at multiple levels and helps you regain lost confidence and appearance.

Scar Modulation

Scar modulation is aimed at changing scar behaviour and appearance by physical and medical interventions. Targeted physical manipulation of scars along with medical intervention can improve scar appearance to great length and can also help with many other symptoms like pain and itching associated with scarring.

Cellular Therapies

Various cellular therapies are aimed at leveraging healing potential of various cellular elements of blood and connective tissues. These cells provide skin with new growth factors and stimulate collagen and aid in better healing . These new age therapies have provided fresh advantage to us in treating old scars by biological means.

Aesthetic Surgery for Scars

While performing surgery to improve scar may seem counterintuitive. Advanced cosmetic surgery techniques allow Dr Garg to change and improve scar appearance. Dr B K Garg can perform many advanced surgical techniques including but not limited to tissue expansion, excision , favourable rotation and Z plasty . All these methods can improve appearance of scars greatly.

Laser Hair Reduction

Laser hair reduction results in permanent reduction of unwanted face and body hair. Both men and women who regularly wax or shave will benefit immensely from this procedure.

Laser hair reduction works by thermally damaging hair follicles so that they are no longer able to grow hair. A laser produces a wavelength of light which is able to penetrate the skin. The laser light is absorbed into the hair shaft and rapidly heats and damages both the follicle and the vessel that provides the follicle with oxygen and nutrients.

To achieve a permanent hair reduction most people need between 4 - 8 treatments. This is because at any given time everyone has a mix of actively growing, transitioning, and resting hairs. Only actively growing hairs can be destroyed during a treatment. Subsequent treatments are therefore scheduled to be performed when these transitioning or resting hairs will be active (usually 4-6 weeks apart for most body areas). For optimum results it is important that the treatment schedule is strictly followed.

Laser hair removal is extremely fast with large areas treated in a matter of minutes. Treatments are virtually painless thanks to Chill Tip Dynamic Cooling . This inbuilt technology ensures that treatments are very tolerable and certainly less painful than waxing.

We use US FDA approved diode lasers which is the Gold-Standard laser device for permanent hair reduction. We make use of different wavelengths (755nm Alexandrite, 808 nm diode and 1064nm Nd:YAG) so as to safely and effectively treat clients with lighter skin types all the way through to dark skin types.

These side effects typically occur around the injection site. Residual side effects tend to be mild and short-lived, lasting only a few days post-injection. If your side effects persist, be sure to contact your doctor to schedule an appointment.

Soft Tissue Fillers

Dermal fillers are FDA-approved and safe for use by most patients. Many of the fillers are made from substances found naturally in the body or synthetically made to mimic natural substances or stimulate collagen production. These fillers are injected directly into the skin of the targeted area to restore volume and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Juvéderm® / Hyaluronic Acid Family of Fillers

Juvéderm® filler is an FDA-approved smooth-consistency gel capable of restoring volume to the skin while smoothing away moderate-to-severe facial wrinkles and folds. This filler is made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the skin that adds volume and hydration. But unlike other hyaluronic acid fillers, which usually have granular consistencies, Juvéderm® filler is easily injected into the skin and produces immediate, natural-looking results.

Juvéderm®/Dermal Filler Injection Procedure

Juvéderm® injections take about 15 minutes to administer and usually there is no need for anesthesia. Dr.Garg or her nurse injector may choose to apply a topical or injectable anesthetic to numb the treatment area and reduce the risk of any potential discomfort. The injection is then administered under the skin in the targeted area to add volume or fill in wrinkles and folds.

Recovery After Juvéderm®/Dermal Fillers Injections

Once treatment is completed, patients can return to their regular activities right away, with virtually no downtime. For the first 24 hours after treatment, patients should avoid strenuous exercise, excessive sun or heat exposure, and consumption of alcoholic beverages to reduce the risk of complications after treatment. Some patients may experience mild side effects such as redness, swelling or itching, but these usually go away on their own after a short time.

Dermal Filler Results

The results of Juvéderm® injections are visible immediately after the procedure and will continue to improve over the next few days as any swelling and bruising subside. Results are expected to last six to nine months but, in many cases, last up to year.
